a lame post with a cool picture

I haven't blogged in so long that I've given up utterly on trying to say something clever, and am instead going to point to the incredible graffiti artist Julian Beever, whose 3D chalk images apparently line the streets of various lucky cities. Hard to believe that one there is a drawing, isn't it? But it is. You can see his other work here, if you like.

In the meantime, I'll just add that it's nice to be finished with the semester, but hard to get back to the old writing grind. I've been reading lots of helpful blogs on overcoming procrastination as a way of further procrastinating. I'm sure they are all most helpful, to some people. As for moi, I can neither relax nor get down to it. The usual.

But it will happen soon, especially now that my kiddo's birthday party, which I have been dreading for months, is over. A grand time was had by all, and only one skinned knee was the result (though you wouldn't have known it from the bloodcurdling screams). That despite the nervous mother who told me she really didn't want her child getting too wet, could I promise her I'd be with the children at all times, was I certain no one was coughing or might give her a cold, blah blah blah.

Mothers can be a real pain in the you-know-what.

But the point is, it's done, and now I have nothing left to worry about, except, of course, writing that danged book that's due in only six weeks.

Blah.

That is amazing...I cannot get my brain to un-3d it!
I know you're and expert writer, but for what it's worth, I found this little ditty helpful.
"There's no such thing as writer's block, it's really ideas block. If writing isn't happening you need to do more thinking and planning."

Well, that would certainly be my problem: thinking! We need more thinking! And more ideas! Lots of them!

Sigh....
