noted: stomach ailment feels worse than cancer

So go figure: I get a brain tumor and suddenly I'm all about epiphanies and new starts on life and look how beautiful everything is; I get a stomach infection and I decide that life is no longer worth living and please god, just kill me now.

I can laugh about it now, even though I'm still not over this thing. After a week of sheer misery, I finally got some medical help. It turns out that my latest ailments are not the normal result of ending chemo and going off steroids at all. I just have a stomach bug--the kind most people would be able to kick after a few unhappy days, but that completely wipes out a person like me, who has a compromised immune system and messed-up "natural fauna," as they say.

(Or was it flora? I forget. I think they're both messed up. Everything's messed up.)

Anyway, I spent about six days rolling around in complete agony during most of my awake hours and passed out in a comatose state the rest of the time. I had maybe two or three good hours a day. I really thought I'd regressed by about a month, which is seriously distressing when you're recovering from cancer and you live for the tiny improvements you see each day. And maybe in fact I have regressed by a month. But at least now I know why, and I know this latest ailment is curable, and that once the antibiotics kick in I'm going to feel hugely better.

As I think I wrote elsewhere, trust in a better future is a magical thing. It's the difference between being able to get out of bed and not.

Oh no! Hope you feel better quickly. I know that food poisoning or stomach flu are really the only sicknesses I get where I wish someone would just put me out of my misery. Thank god for antibiotics! On another note, would you mind sending me your address on Facebook?

Stomach cancer or gastric cancer develops in the tissues that line the stomach. The reason for stomach cancer is still unknown by many doctors, so if one observes the symptoms of it, should immediately consult doctor. Some of its symptoms are discomfort in stomach, feeling fullness even after eating small portion meal, weight loss, feeling like vomiting etc.
