my email broke!

Oh wow--this is really bad. I've just discovered that my standard email account,"lamtower@mail.sdsu.edu," which is the the one that I tell everyone to use because I've always assumed it was the most reliable, has not been working since December 9. Apparently there was a command set at the server to filter everything to trash, before it ever got to me, and now I have no way of retrieving any of it. I had no idea. I had noticed I had not heard back from people I'd written to, and I'd thought that odd, but of course it's been the holiday, so I didn't make too much of it.

Now I'm wondering how many people I've offended by ignoring their emails. So if you've written me at that address and never heard back from me, please accept my deepest apologies. I never got your email. That account is now working again--I've twiddled with the root drive and now I seem to be receiving emails again. But I won't be able to retrieve what I lost.

So what do I do here: write to everyone I know and say, "Hey, have you sent me anything recently? 'Cause I didn't get anything!" That seems kind of coercive--as in, "You dip, you, why haven't you written me?!"

But I have to say it's also kind of funny--in that sad, 2009 kind of way.

I mean, it figures. Everything else about 2009 sucked. It just makes karmic sense that the last blast 2009 would shoot me would be to cut off one of my main arteries for contact with people, right when I needed it the most.

Good lord--what did I do to bring down all this bad luck?!!!!
