annoying people

So I encountered some annoying people this morning, and I wondered if the entire world finds these people annoying (it seemed very likely), or whether it's just me. And if indeed it is the entire world, are these poor hapless people just doomed to having everyone irritated at them all the time?

Because it really doesn't take much before you notice it. I can register an annoying person in less than a second. I'm not sure what they're doing that is so annoying, but instantly I am annoyed with them. Like the two annoying women hogging entire lanes at the grocery store this morning, walking exTRAORdinarily slowly and blocking all access to basically everything, all the while whining to each other in entirely annoying tones.

I shoved past them--right through them, actually, breaking up their conversation--and didn't even say "excuse me." And I'm still not sorry, because they were annoying. Almost deliberately so.

But what I particularly noticed was that every time I passed them again (and this happens a lot in grocery stores, where annoying people are likely to amble slowly up each and every aisle looking at things, whether they need them or not), the annoyance resurged. Sometimes they weren't even talking. The expression on their faces alone was enough to do it.

Perhaps this is irrational on my part. But it was so very real.

The feed to your blog must be corrupt or something. I'm just now getting this :(. In the blogosphere, it's sooo very old news. Your life has progressed to the mouse post. And here I am, embarrassingly behind commenting on the annoying people post.
You could probably find dozens of posts on my blog where the subtext would read "annoys me."
