Goldfinches have been achieved

Finally. After a month of waiting. Aren't they cute? Like oversized hummingbirds. They can hang upside-down and do other acrobatics.

Update: three weeks later, our goldfinch feeder is inundated. Word has evidently gotten out. I'm watching them now as I type. Morning is a busy time; right now there are six goldfinches feeding, with three others waiting hopefully on neaby branches. Periodically the waiters fly at the feeding ones and try to knock them off. I've witnessed several mid-air brawls, in which they fly at each other with their tiny claws outstretched. They also do a lot of hissing at each other.

For cute little birds, they're awfully quarrelsome.
