doomed

According to the Death Clock, I'm scheduled to die on February 20, 2066.

I'm not sure how it came up with that number. It's kind of creepy. Even creepier is the number of seconds you have left to live, ticking away right in front of you. Look, I just lost eight more.

It goes by so fast.

I got 2066, making me 106! So did you calculate your day with Sunday being day one? I put optimistic, too.

The BMI thing...you know there's real research on longevity and a low-calorie diet. Eating about a third less, you live longer.
So does that mean all there will be only skinny old,old people?

Currently reading "I Capture the Castle." Now why do you consider it one of your favorites? Please help me really like this book.

All right, anonymous reader of _I Capture The Castle_: if you don't like this book, well, you're just not the right type of person. I don't know what to tell you.

Just kidding. Why did I like it? Well...it's not fantasy, adventure, or sci fi. It's a well-written story about a very likable heroine who would very much LIKE to be a heroine. But she is convinced, because of the time in which she lives, that only men get to be the heroes. Read until the end. You'll see all the rough choices women make, and if you read between the lines, you'll see how much this narrator sells herself short. Yep, the world is all about the men. But it shouldn't be. The one with the real gift is our narrator....but she doesn't even know it.

J.K. Rowling loved this book. It's not Harry Potter, but it's got something about it that a writer of Harry Potter would love. And I think I know what it is.

Maybe one day I will resume ICTC. But in the interim, you have been redeemed. I was captured not by the castle but by the Schlegel sisters in Howards End. And the quiet and gentle The Remains of the Day is a moving companion piece to I, Claudius. You have a 95% wonderful reading list there.
